Amazing story, Candacy. When I was driving all over America for the American Bones Project, my van, "Foxy Brown," was such a target. I got the cops called on me, pulled over so many times, I could only assume it was because the van looked like a brother's van. Driving while "Presumed Black." With my white and female privilege, I rarely got ticketed; some even told me it was because of the van. Virginia was the worst for folks calling the cops on me.
